Overview
Think Tanger offers a 2-month residency for visual artists, curators, and art critics to conduct research, expand networks, and develop work at the intersection of art, urbanism, and socio-spatial issues. The residency provides professional and practical supervision, introduces residents to the Think Tanger network, and concludes with a public final presentation and open studios. Residents stay in a shared apartment and have access to the Tanger Print Club silk screen printing studio.
For whom
The residency is open to visual artists, curators, and art critics. Solo applications only—no duos. Designers should apply via the Creative Industries Fund NL.

Award & costs
The Mondriaan Fund provides a subsidy of €5,027 for artists and €3,533 for curators to help cover travel expenses, material costs, and living costs. The selected resident must pay a 10% personal contribution, which the fund automatically accounts for in the final subsidy. Higher travel costs for residents based in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Application deadline
Submit applications in English by Thursday 27 March 2026, before 16:00 (Dutch time zone) / 11:00 (Caribbean time zone).
