About
Overview
Multidisciplinary art residency celebrating the sixth year of Kaaysá Art Residency. Video is positioned as a medium and tool for interconnection that, when combined with other art forms, allows artists to explore how nature communicates. Participating artists will have guidance from Lucas Bambozzi and Fernando Velasquez, and interaction with invited curators and artists including Solange Farkas, Marcio Harum, Cris Takua, Carlos Papa, Regina Jeha, and Sonia Guggisberg. Special screenings of award-winning videos from the VideoBrasil collection will be featured.

Eligibility
Open to visual artists, writers, photographers, painters, sculptors, dancers, performers, musicians, and all other creators.
Media & Disciplines
Video is the primary medium and starting point, with openness to painting, sculpture, printmaking, dance, installation, photography, and all other art forms.
Accommodation & Facilities
Private big room with bathroom, balcony with view, work table, towels, and linen. Kaaysá provides a big collective studio, kiln, wood machinery, music recording studio with guitars, drums, piano, electric organ, and percussion instruments. Free wifi, bicycles for common use, equipped kitchen, laundry, and parking are included.
Activities & Support
Participating artists will have access to trails in the Atlantic Forest, encounters with Caiçara and Indigenous cultures, Afro dance experiences, yoga, contemporary dance, and various cultural and physical well-being activities from the Boiçucanga community. Staff speak French, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic.
Fee & Expectations
- Fee: 1500 US dollars or 1500 EURO for 3 weeks
- Expected deliverables: portfolio presentation, studio visit, workshop with students from public schools
