bEam arts international artist residency

Overview

The international residency program supports a vibrant studio practice for up to 5 artists from different disciplines. Residents stay for 1 or 2 months and participate in monthly activities designed to foster connection, engagement, and professional networking.

Accommodation & Location

Private accommodation is offered through a collaboration with Thess Residences, featuring fully serviced apartments with kitchenettes, located one minute from the studios. Accommodation is optional. The program is based in Greece.

Studio Resources & Support

Each artist receives a dedicated 24/7 studio space within a shared environment, plus access to a well-equipped communal workshop for experimentation with traditional and contemporary materials. The bEam arts team provides continuous support including one-to-one mentorship, technical assistance in the workshop, and curatorial guidance for the final group exhibition.

Residency Duration & Requirements

Artists stay for 1 or 2 months and are expected to demonstrate clear commitment to their practice. Residents must create a minimum of two works to exhibit at the final group show held in the bEam arts gallery.

Fees

• With accommodation: €1,850 per month
• Without accommodation: €1,000 per month
• Duo artists (with a history of working in partnership): €150 extra per month
• Accommodation is optional and selected in the application form

How to Apply

• Artist's statement (max 250 words): Describe your practice/research and areas of interest
• Project proposal (max 250 words): Outline your residency project, motivation & expectations
• CV & Portfolio: 5–10 images including dimensions, technique, title, and date

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on the clarity of your proposal, the quality of your work, and your willingness to engage with the residency as a focused and generous time for exploration. The program values thoughtful approaches, curiosity, interest in community, and a sense of commitment—whether developing new ideas, continuing existing work, or seeking time to reflect within a shared creative environment.
