Charlotte Street's Generative Performing Artist Awards recognize exceptional performing artists creating original, innovative work in dance, theater, music, performance, spoken word, and hybrid/interdisciplinary forms. Since 2008, the program has distributed $310,000 to 36 performing artists. Winners receive $10,000 unrestricted funding, critical recognition, public exposure, and a professional taping of their performance at Charlotte Street.

Eligibility

Jury Panel
A jury panel composed of local, regional, and national artists and culture workers is responsible for selecting the award recipients each year.
