The Finnish Cultural Foundation offers fully-funded 3-month international residencies at Narva Art Residency (NART) in Estonia for creators residing in Finland. The program supports visual arts, contemporary art, interdisciplinary practice, social practice, research, and community-engaged media.

  • Finnish citizens or foreign artists currently residing in Finland
  • Individual artists or artist partnerships (duos)
  • €8,000 working grant per artist for the 3-month residency
  • Dedicated travel grant based on eco-friendly or standard transport modes
  • Free private bedroom (shared for duos)
  • Shared communal living/kitchen spaces and studio/co-working spaces
  • Direct access to historic Kreenholm manufacturing site and rowboat access to canals
  • Complimentary bicycles for local transportation
  • Curatorial and community assistance, including translation during workshops
  • Period 1: May 1 – July 31, 2027
  • Period 2: October 1 – December 31, 2027

Submit an artistic project proposal, portfolio, CV, and community engagement outline via the SKR application system. Include clear strategies for connecting with Narva's local Russian-speaking and post-industrial community.

  • Application Submission Window: August 10 – August 31, 2026 (Closes at 4:00 PM Finnish time)
  • Grant Decision Announcement: No later than January 5, 2027
