Overview
SAE (Solanas Art Experience), the cultural platform of Fundación Solanas in Punta Ballena, Uruguay, launches an open call for visual artists seeking projects that bridge art, nature, architecture, technology, design, and material culture.

Eligibility
Mid-career artists based in Latin America and the Caribbean with a sustained body of work (international exhibitions, works in collections, training, or previous residencies). Artists who have already participated in earlier editions are not eligible to reapply.
What is not accepted
- Site-specific projects intended solely for outdoor display
- Proposals focused exclusively on performance or audiovisual work
Selection and awards
Three artists will be selected for two editions, and two artists for the remaining edition. SAE covers accommodation, meals, travel, provides a USD 300 production fund, shared studio space, and curatorial support. Each residency closes with an Open Studio. Resulting works may be included in a summer exhibition and in the Solanas Art Experience Collection, to which each resident donates a piece while retaining authorship rights.
Fees
Artists pay a USD 1,000 residency fee.
Application requirements
Applicants must fill out the application form and submit a PDF including CV, artist statement, portfolio, project proposal, timeline, and two letters of recommendation.
