About the Instructor Lesley RandallLesley Randall combines her love of art and plants by creating botanically themed pieces in a variety of media. As an undergraduate studying landscape architecture, she discovered drawing plants and focusing on their distinctive characters was the best way to learn about them. This led to a career in botanical illustration where she prepares pen and ink illustrations for scientific publications. She has exhibited her illustrations in international art shows and has won several awards.Lesley also works in color pencil and watercolor. She often combines these two media with pen and ink to create dynamic representations of plants and occasionally animals. When working in watercolor, Lesley uses a dry brush technique which gives her control and precision. In her non-art life, Lesley has worked in botanical gardens and laboratories studying plant physiology. In each position, she has discovered more about the wonders of plants and many many subjects to draw and paint. Lesley hopes her work will give people an appreciation of the variety, intricacy and beauty of the plant world About the Instructor Stephanie HenryStephanie Henry is an award winning artist whose love for animals and portraiture have found the perfect fit. She often says that she draws love, as her work strives to capture the love between people and their pets. For her, capturing this love on canvas or paper is more than just a job. It's a calling, a way to spread joy and happinessthrough her art.She believes that the love we share with our pets is one of the purest forms of love there is, and that by highlighting this connection in her work, she can help bring people closer together. Whether it's a loyal dog, a mischievous cat, or any other kind of pet, she sees the beauty in every animal and strives to showcase that beauty in her art. Her work is a celebration of the love that exists between all living creatures, and a reminder of the joy that can be found in even the simplest moments of life.
