The City of Lausanne invites visual artists to submit a proposal for a large-scale artwork to cover the Manor building's prominent facade in the historic center. The work will be displayed as a printed microperforated banner for 2-3 years as part of a broader cultural activation of Lausanne's urban spaces. The project builds on a successful pilot artwork by Maya Rochat.

The artwork aims to enhance the cultural value of a highly visible urban space, offer an artist an unprecedented large-scale platform in the city, and create dialogue between contemporary creation and the Lausanne urban landscape. The facade currently detracts from the heritage context of the historic center, and the artistic intervention should improve the visual quality of the panorama and harmoniously reintegrate it into its built environment.

The support is exclusively a microperforated printed banner with dimensions of 21.05 m x 5.91 m. Proposals must be designed specifically for this medium: the visual must be created for large-format outdoor printing, resist climatic conditions, and produce quality results at all viewing distances. A purely decorative approach is not sought; a project with a clear artistic intention adapted to the constraints and possibilities of this support is expected.
