Québec-Acadie Residencies

Program Overview

Résidences Québec-Acadie is the second edition of a cross-residency program hosted by three venues: Fonderie Darling (Montreal), Gare de Matapédia (Gaspésie), and Projet Borgitte (New Brunswick). The program strengthens ties among Canadian Francophone communities, promotes Acadian culture, and brings together English- and French-speaking art scenes. Local partners including Centre d'Artistes Vaste et Vague, Galerie Sans Nom, Struts Gallery, Galerie Universitaire Louise-et-Ruben Cohen, and Owens Gallery support the program by hosting artists and organizing public presentations.

Eligibility

Artists from Quebec and New Brunswick are invited to apply for one or more of the four residencies.

Residency #1: For Quebec Artists

• February 13 to May 14, 2026
• New Brunswick: February 13 to April 13, 2026 at Projet Borgitte
• Gaspésie: April 14 to May 14, 2026 at Gare de Matapédia

Residency #2: For Gaspésie Artists

• October 1 to December 31, 2026
• Gaspésie: October 1 to October 31, 2026 at Gare de Matapédia
• New Brunswick: November 1 to November 30, 2026 at Projet Borgitte
• Montreal: December 1 to December 31, 2026 at Fonderie Darling

Residency #3: For New Brunswick Artists

• May 15 to August 14, 2026
• Gaspésie: May 15 to May 31, 2026 at Gare de Matapédia
• New Brunswick: June 1 to June 16, 2026 at Projet Borgitte
• Montreal: June 17 to August 14, 2026 at Fonderie Darling

Residency #4: For New Brunswick Artists

• September 1 to November 30, 2026
• New Brunswick: September 1 to September 8, 2026 at Projet Borgitte
• Gaspésie: September 8 to September 30, 2026 at Gare de Matapédia
• Montreal: October 1 to November 30, 2026 at Fonderie Darling
