Artists are invited to join a one-month residency surveying, researching, and creating works around myth-making in Trà Vinh, Vietnam, with a showcase at No Cai Bum Festival in late December 2026.

This one-month artist residency programme invites emerging art practitioners from the Lower Mekong Subregion to survey, research, and create works around the concepts and processes of myth-making in Trà Vinh, Vietnam. Selected artists will present work at No Cai Bum Festival in late December 2026.

  • Residency: 15 October–15 November 2026
  • Showcase at No Cai Bum Festival: late December 2026 (approximately 25 December 2026–2 January 2027)

Open to emerging practitioners regardless of age from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar whose practice engages with culture, history, linguistics, or explores linguistic fragmentation. Writers with focus on creative writing, allegorical narratives, and critical fabulation are welcome, as are applicants interested in research-driven, experimental, or community-rooted methodologies.

  • Artist and production fee of up to 800 EUR
  • Fully funded round-trip travel from artist's country of residence to Trà Vinh
  • Accommodation and shared working space (including simple ceramic studio)
  • Local transportation in Trà Vinh
  • Living stipend of EUR 200 per person
  • Curatorial and logistical support from a Vietnamese curator and local coordinator
  • Weekly programme featuring local experts, talks, workshops, screenings, and guided tours
  • Opportunities to collaborate with local communities
