Structure - Open Call Exhibition

Overview

Open call exhibition at Cupola Contemporary Art inviting artists to submit work inspired by or responding to the theme Structure. All submitted work must be for sale.

• Submission deadline: 25 August 2026
• Exhibition: 12 September – 10 October 2026
• Work must arrive by: Friday 4 September 2026

Theme

Structure can be interpreted in countless ways: architecture or the built environment, social hierarchies, language and sentence construction, natural formations, the human body, systems, patterns, processes, or any other interpretation that resonates with your practice. Imaginative and personal responses across all media are welcomed.

Submission guidelines

• Submit up to 4–6 individual works or a cohesive collection of functional ware
• All items must be original and handmade
• Selected works must be clearly labelled and ready for display
• Work does not need to be delivered in person; postal and in-person deliveries accepted
• Postal deliveries accepted during the week and Saturdays; in-person deliveries Monday–Friday only
• All selected works must remain available for sale for the duration of the exhibition
• Artists responsible for delivery and collection costs

Fees & commission

• No submission or exhibition fee
• Gallery commission: 50% after VAT
• All sales managed by Cupola Contemporary Art
• Unsold work should be collected by arrangement after exhibition or returned by post at artist's expense

Pricing your work

Calculate retail price using: Wholesale price × 2.2 = Retail Price (including VAT). Example: £100 wholesale = £220 retail (£100 to artist, £100 gallery commission, £20 VAT).

Cupola Contemporary Art, 178–178A Middlewood Road, Sheffield, S6 1TD. Opening hours: 10–6 Monday to Saturday.
