Art Center Waco invites active and retired art educators from McLennan, Bell, Falls, Coryell, Limestone, Hill, and Bosque Counties to submit original works for Art Edu, a juried exhibition celebrating educators as practicing artists. Open to emerging and established artists working across all visual mediums, this exhibition recognizes the creative lives of those who teach, mentor, and inspire others through the arts. Proceeds from artwork sales directly support both participating artists and Art Center Waco's exhibitions, education programs, and community initiatives.

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, September 27, 2026, 11:59 pm CST
  • Notification of Acceptance: On or before Friday, October 2, 2026
  • Artwork Delivery: Tuesday, October 6 - Saturday, October 17, 2026, by 2 pm
  • Exhibition Dates: October 29 - December 19, 2026

Emerging and established visual artists working in all visual media, living in McLennan, Bell, Falls, Coryell, Limestone, Hill, and Bosque Counties, over the age of 18. Must be active or retired art educators.

  • All 2D and 3D media eligible: sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, and ceramic fine art (no digital prints)
  • Artwork created in the past 5 years
  • Maximum size: 72" wide, 72" high, and 72" deep (for 3D works); wall works cannot exceed 60 lbs
  • No minimum size; pedestals not available but artists may provide their own
  • Canvas artworks do not need to be framed but require hanging wire on back
  • All 2D works must be framed and exhibition ready to install
  • Submit 1-3 original artworks
  • Artist bio (up to 200 words)
  • Artist statement (up to 400 words, related to the work)
  • Name, date of birth, address, email, phone number, website (if applicable), Instagram (if applicable)
  • Retail price for each work (ACW retains 30% commission; artist keeps 70%)
  • Work must be original and not previously exhibited with ACW
  • Work must be exhibition-ready to install
  • Application/submission fee: $25
  • Handling fee: $15 per box/crate shipped (billed separately via email for accepted work)

Artwork must be delivered onsite at Art Center Waco between October 6-17, 2026, by 2 pm. Artists are responsible for dropping off or shipping work. Ship to: Art Center Waco, Art Edu, 701 S. 8th Street, Waco, TX 76706. Any artwork not meeting the deadline will not be included in the exhibit.

  • Acceptable: Securely attached D-rings and braided picture wire (preferred); French cleats for heavy/large works with clear installation instructions; fixed cleats on panels if level and stable
  • Not accepted: Sawtooth hangers, clip frames, keyhole slots, loose eye hooks, nails, unsecured cords, adhesives, velcro, command strips
