Overview
Nine Eighteen Nine - GCA Exhibit 2026: Narratives is a juried and judged exhibition hosted by the Guild of Charlotte Artists. The theme is Narratives, and each submission must include a sentence about the piece being submitted to explain what you want to draw the viewer's attention to, what inspired you to create it, or something about your process.

- Artists notified: October 19, 2026
- Take in: Sunday, November 1st 12–3 PM and Monday, November 2nd 10–2 PM
- Opening reception: Saturday, November 7th, 2–4 PM
- Exhibition dates: November 7–December 5, 2026
- Closing reception: Saturday, December 5th, 2–4 PM
- Pick up: Sunday, December 6th, 11–2 PM
Eligibility
Guild membership is required to submit; membership may be purchased at the time of entry and is on a rolling annual basis. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Artwork must be original in concept, composition, and execution, completed within the last 3 years, and may not have been previously shown in a Guild show. Work done in any class or under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible.

- Maximum size: 40" x 40" including frame
- Any work not complying with size limitations will be excluded from the show and the entry fee will not be refunded
- No substitutions allowed; failure to deliver submitted artwork will result in removal from the show and entry fee will not be refunded

- 3 honorable mentions
- People's Choice Award given at the closing reception

- Submit 1 original artwork
- Include a sentence about your piece
- Work must be original and not infringe on any copyright
- Submission limit: 1 artwork per artist
Sales & commission
30% commission retained by the guild for any work sold during the show.
