Get matched →Busan Metropolitan City invites individuals and teams from around the world to propose a site-responsive work of land and ecological art for Eulsukdo, an estuarine island at the mouth of the Nakdong River, South Korea Ys longest river. Eulsukdo is an important stopover for migratory birds travelling along the East Asian Australasian Flyway. This layered history invites reflection on coexistence between human and more-than-human life. The project will be completed and opened from May to June 2027. No on-site construction or artwork installation is permitted during the peak migratory bird arrival period (November through February).
The Open Call seeks original proposals that respond to Eulsukdo Ys ecology, landscape, history and changing environment, while minimising ecological disturbance and demonstrating environmental responsibility throughout the work Ys lifecycle.
Individuals or teams who are professionally active in art, landscape architecture, architecture, design or related fields can apply. Interdisciplinary teams are welcome.
