About
Overview
The Portland Winter Light Festival, produced by Nightlab (formerly Willamette Light Brigade), invites Portland's creative community to submit proposals for the 2027 festival. Established artists and newcomers alike are welcome to submit proposals that use light in creative ways. Previous festival experience is not required. Strong concepts, collaboration, and curiosity are valued.
What to Submit
Proposals that use light in creative ways, including art installations, performances, projections, fire sculpture, and immersive experiences. Businesses, galleries, storefronts, cultural organizations, and other public-facing spaces are also encouraged to participate by hosting artwork during the Festival.
Key Dates
- Virtual information sessions: Tuesday, July 7, noon–1 PM (architects and design firms); Wednesday, July 8, noon–1 PM (venues & community partners); Wednesday, July 8, 6–7 PM (artists & performers)
- Submission deadline: August 28, 2026 (rolling review)
- Festival dates: February 5–13, 2027

Open to artists, performers, architects, designers, students, venues, businesses, and community partners in Portland. Established artists and newcomers are welcome.
How to Apply
