International Creator Residency Program 2027｜TOKAS Residency Programs

Overview

Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) offers artist-in-residence programs for international creators working in visual arts, design, and architecture to stay, engage in creation, and conduct research activities in Tokyo. Six creators will be selected to develop and present new works and ideas, with results presented at the OPEN STUDIO.

Residency Periods

• May 1 to July 31, 2027
• September 1 to November 30, 2027
• January 1 to March 31, 2028

Duration & Location

3-month residency at TOKAS in Sumida-ku, Tokyo. The area features the Ryogoku Kokugikan (Sumo Hall), Sumida Hokusai Museum, Edo-Tokyo Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and Tokyo Skytree.

What We Provide

• Living space (single room)
• International airfare
• Living expenses (per diem)
• Fee for creative work/project
• Two shared studios (125㎡ and 48㎡) with Wi-Fi and air conditioning, open 9:30am–11:00pm

Eligibility

Open to international creators in visual arts, design, and architecture.
