About KRA
KRA – Kravín Rural Arts is an art/culture organization in the Vysočina region of the Czech Republic, in a small hamlet in the Železné hory (Iron mountains). Driven by ecology as creative potential, KRA organizes international art residencies, festivals with workshops and performances, and participations both online and onsite. Artists of any (or no) discipline are welcome throughout the year to stay, research, and create new work in the residency spaces, ateliers, garden, and surroundings.
Facilities
The residency is housed in an old mansion (1715) with a common attic studio (10x10m) for working and living. A 750m² cowshed and 5000m² wild garden are available for creative work, plus access to the natural environment. Shared kitchen and bathroom facilities are on the first floor; special wishes should be discussed with the organizers.
Services
Residents cook and share meals together, sharing costs with all visitors. The attic includes sound equipment and technical assistance with electronics. An extensive library on literary, cultural, and ecological issues is available. Staff assist with the development of artworks on the technical and ecological side and can connect residents with local partners for additional support.
Key Requirements
Residencies are available during summer months only due to weather conditions. Artists must be committed to ecological and artistic research and diversity. A public presentation or try-out for local citizens is required of all residents.

Approximately 3 weeks, allowing time for intake, settling into the rural environment, and creating.
