Overview
The Tokyo Arts and Culture Creation and Transmission Grant supports diverse creative activities and their practitioners to enhance Tokyo's appeal as a city. The program provides partial subsidies for activity expenses to arts organizations and individual artists based in Tokyo.
Four Categories
- Category I (Single-year): Arts Creation Activities – performances, exhibitions, art projects in Tokyo or international artistic exchange activities
- Category II (Long-term): Arts Creation Activities – support for 2 or 3 years, including research and trial performances alongside presentation activities
- Category III (Long-term/Single-year): Creative Environment Improvement Activities – support for up to 3 years for activities addressing arts creation environment challenges
- Category IV (Long-term): Overseas Film Festival Participation – support for film post-production and overseas festival participation for 2 or 3 years

Music, theater, dance, visual arts and film, traditional arts, interdisciplinary (when core discipline cannot be identified)

Arts organizations with headquarters or main office in Tokyo, or individual artists residing in Tokyo
Grant Amounts
- Category I (single-year, in-Tokyo): Organization up to 2,000,000 yen; Individual up to 500,000 yen (up to 1/2 of eligible expenses)
- Category I (single-year, international): Organization up to 4,000,000 yen; Individual up to 500,000 yen (up to 1/2 of eligible expenses)
- Category II (2 years): up to 8,000,000 yen; (3 years): up to 12,000,000 yen (up to 1/2 of eligible expenses)
- Category III (single-year): up to 1,000,000 yen (up to 2/3 of eligible expenses); (long-term, 2 years): up to 4,000,000 yen; (3 years): up to 6,000,000 yen (up to 2/3 of eligible expenses)
- Category IV (2 years): Organization up to 4,000,000 yen, Individual up to 2,000,000 yen; (3 years): Organization up to 6,000,000 yen, Individual up to 3,000,000 yen (up to 1/2 of eligible expenses)
