Get matched →In 2027, Southwark Cathedral will dedicate its Café exhibition programme to the work of local artists, creating a series of exhibitions celebrating the creativity and perspectives of artists connected to the wider community. We are inviting artists with a strong connection to the Diocese of Southwark to submit proposals for an exhibition in the Cathedral Café to be displayed throughout 2027.
Artists working within or demonstrating meaningful connection to the Diocese of Southwark, which covers South London and East Surrey, including Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Croydon, Bromley, Kingston, Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton, and surrounding areas. You do not need to live in the Diocese or be of Christian faith.
A wide range of artistic practices suitable for display in the Cathedral Café. Artwork must be suitable for wall hanging—paintings, drawings, prints, photography and other two-dimensional work. Very large-scale works or freestanding sculpture cannot be accommodated.
Submit up to 10 images representative of what you would like to exhibit using the online submission form. Proposals may be for existing bodies of work, new exhibition ideas, or work responding to a particular theme, place, community or aspect of life in the Diocese. Individual artists or collaborative exhibitions are welcome. Some exhibition slots occur later in 2027, so work does not need to be completed.
Every listing links to the organizer's official page. Always confirm deadlines, fees, and entry rules there before you apply.
There is no fee to submit or exhibit. Artists are not paid an exhibition fee. However, a minimum Café spend will apply if you choose to hold a private view.
