Bernheim Forest 2025 Artist in Residence ProgramClermont, KentuckyDeadline: December 1, 2025 The Bernheim Forest residency awards up to 4 residencies a year to artists whose art ignites wonder, sparks curiosity, and brings people closer to nature. The program includes a $2,500 stipend along with the opportunity to live at Bernheim Forest and create site specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. One residency is always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or nearby counties in Southern Indiana; and one residency is dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis. They encourage visual artists of all mediums to apply. Apply Creative Greensboro Downtown Arts Open CallGreensboro, North CarolinaDeadline: December 1, 2025 Downtown Arts provides support for and generates awareness about members of Greensboro’s visual arts community while enhancing the downtown built environment with original works of art. Selected artists will receive compensation and the support of City of Greensboro led marketing initiatives. Selected artists will receive compensation and promotion through several City-led initiatives. Applicants to this Call for Artists can choose to be considered for one or both of the following opportunities: Art on Downtown Kiosks: a $500 honorarium will be awarded to up to ten artists whose submitted work is selected for digital display on City maintained property, including on the 11 digital kiosks located throughout downtown, February 2025 through January 2026. Each selected artist/image will be displayed in a rotating slideshow on the downtown kiosks for 10 weeks. Art in City Hall: a $3,000 commission will be awarded to one artist who will create a new, original work no larger than 36” x 24” (or 36” x 24” x 24” if artwork is three-dimensional) that reflects their creative perspective on Greensboro in 2024. The original work will be placed in the City’s permanent collection and displayed periodically in public facilities. Both opportunities are available for Greensboro-based artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, glass, photography, digital arts, or fiber arts. The program is open to individual artists living in the South Arts region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The cohort of nine-state fellows will be selected through a two-tiered selection process by a national jury. A second national jury will select the Southern Prize Winner and Finalist. Jurors will make their selections based on artistic excellence that reflects and represents the array of artistic expression of the region. The winning piece will become the official poster design of the 2026 North Charleston Arts Fest, taking place April 29-May 3, and will be featured on all promotional materials and merchandise, including posters, billboards, print and digital advertisements, television commercials, program booklets, apparel, online, and more. The winning artist will receive a $1000 purchase award and a solo exhibition at Park Circle Gallery during May 2026. In addition, the winning piece will become part of the City of North Charleston’s Public Art Collection, which is displayed throughout City Hall.
