Estudio Chapulín is an artist residency in Mexico City designed for visual artists seeking focused studio time while engaging with the city's vibrant cultural landscape. The program encourages a balance between independent production, dialogue, and exchange among residents.

  • 4-week residency
  • Private room provided
  • Private or shared studio space

The residency welcomes visual artists working in painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, printmaking, textile, video, new media, and interdisciplinary practices, including research-based and experimental artistic practices.

Residents have access to bright studio spaces, high-speed internet, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and basic studio furniture including work tables and easels. Documentation equipment, a projector, and additional resources are available upon request depending on each project's needs.

Each residency begins with an introductory conversation with the Estudio Chapulín team. During the stay, residents attend a group gathering to introduce their practice and share work, receive a studio visit to discuss project development, participate in one or two group visits to museums, galleries, artist studios, or cultural events, and conclude with an Open Studio where work is shared with fellow artists, curators, and the public.
