Foundwork, a charitable organization based in Los Angeles supporting contemporary artists worldwide since 2017, invites artists to apply for its 2026 annual Artist Prize through its online platform.

The selected honoree receives an unrestricted grant of $10,000, individual studio visits with all five jury members, and a long-form interview for Foundwork's Dialogues program. Three additional artists will join the Short List and receive micro-grants of $1,000 each.

Open to contemporary rising and mid-career artists worldwide, with limited exceptions. Artists must reside anywhere in the world and register on the Foundwork platform.

Artists must register and maintain a published profile on the Foundwork platform throughout the 2026 selection period. Profiles must include at least six artworks and an artist statement.

  • Registration period: September 25, 2026 at 5pm Pacific Time to December 31, 2026 at 5pm Pacific Time

Stefan Benchoam (artist and co-founder of Proyectos Ultravioleta and NuMu in Guatemala City); François Ghebaly (Founder of François Ghebaly Gallery in Los Angeles); Manuela Moscoso (Executive and Artistic Director of CARA in New York); Gabi Ngcobo (Director of Kunstinstituut Melly in Rotterdam); and Esther Schipper (Founder of Esther Schipper Gallery in Berlin).
