The Art Worker Artist Grant is a biennial grant to support artists whose livelihoods are connected to the production, handling, exhibition, care, movement, or stewardship of art. Funds may be used for studio time, travel, healthcare, research, equipment, rest, materials, living expenses, childcare, or artistic development in any form. There are no required outcomes and no required grant acquittal.

Open to artists who support their practice by providing any form of labour in any area of the art industry, including museums, galleries, artist studios, collections, auction houses, art fairs, fabrication, framing and mountmaking workshops, conservation labs, art logistics and crating companies, and storage facilities.

One recipient will receive $5,000 AUD.

  • August 24, 2026: Entries open
  • September 14, 2026: Entries close (limited to first 500 submissions)
  • November 2, 2026: Recipient announced
  • Brief statement describing how the funds could support artistic development or production
  • Link to your website, portfolio, social media, or other documentation of your work

The recipient will be selected by an independent jury comprising Andria Hickey, Clynton Lowry, and Paul Graham.
