Overview
The Gibbes Museum of Art and Society 1858 present an annual Prize for Contemporary Southern Art, awarded to an artist whose work contributes to a new understanding of art in the South. The Prize recognizes the highest level of artistic achievement.
Eligibility
Artists who reside, work in, or are from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia are eligible to apply.

Award
