Cultural Facilities Fund

Overview

The Cultural Facilities Fund awards funding to Seattle arts, heritage, cultural, and arts-service organizations with facility projects that create greater access for those who have been (and are) inequitably excluded from owning, managing, and leasing property. This fund prioritizes projects that eliminate disparities in cultural space control and support capital projects that improve Seattle's arts and cultural spaces in significant and lasting ways.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations are Seattle arts, heritage, cultural, and arts-service organizations with facility projects that create greater access for those inequitably excluded from owning, managing, and leasing property.

Application

Apply online through the City's application platform. The combined 2025 application includes both the Cultural Facilities Fund and the Centering Art & Racial Equity Grant. Prior guidelines are available in multiple languages: Amharic, Chinese (Traditional), Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tigrinya, and Vietnamese.

Award Management

Funded projects are managed through the City's grant platform, Fluxx. Awardees will be assigned a project manager and should submit required documents including invoice and report forms, W-9s, and photo submissions.

Promotion

Awardees are encouraged to promote their projects through their own social media channels, email lists, and word of mouth. Contact your project manager early to be included in the City's editorial calendar. Press releases and press kits can help generate media coverage.
