Get matched →For over 30 years , Art Buddies has provided free, joyful and meaningful one-to-one creative mentorship programming to connect, encourage, inspire and create with students from underserved Twin Cities schools and communities. We believe that everyone is creative and that creativity is essential to thriving communities.
Our Character Creation program pairs 3rd through 5th grade students with a dedicated creative mentor (you!) to design an original character based on their values, interests and community. For about an hour a week over 8-10 weeks , Buddies meet to discuss, plan and ultimately create a super-awesome Super Buddy character and costume!
We need 15 more kind, creative adults to bring the mentor-magic to the incredible students at Lucy Laney, Bancroft and Whittier this October! Join 50 other awesome mentors who have already dedicated their time this fall to connect and create with kids in our community. All kind, caring and creative adults are welcome to apply. No previous experience working with children or formal arts training is required. A background check is required for all applicants.

Fall Schedule:
Tuesdays at Lucy Laney Elementary in North (October 20th through December 15th , 3:40-5pm)
Wednesdays at Bancroft Elementary in Powderhorn (October 7th through December 16th , 4:15-5:30pm)
Thursdays at Whittier Elementary in Uptown (October 8th through December 17th , 3:45-5:15pm)
