CAL Fall 2026 Judged Show

Overview

Conroe Art League hosts the CAL Fall 2026 Virtual Judged Show, hosted on the CaFE platform. Qualified winners are eligible to compete in LSAG's 2027 Annual Show and may display work in the CAL Gallery during October 2026 with no hanging fee.

Eligibility

Open to artists in Texas. Artists do not have to be a member to enter this show. However, to enter eligible artwork in the LSAG 2027 Annual Show, artists must be a member of Conroe Art League or another LSAG league. Entries from outside Texas will be declined.

Media & Categories

• Category A: Oil, acrylic, gouache or oil pastel applied in an opaque method
• Category B: Watercolor, acrylic, gouache, inks, Sumi-E or oriental brush painting applied in a fluid or transparent method
• Category C: Pastels (soft pastels, pan pastels, pastel pencils) on various substrates
• Category D: Drawing (charcoal, pencil, colored pencil, pen, crayon, marker, chalk, metal) or Printmaking (hand plates, stones, screens)
• Category E: Mixed Media (collage, encaustic, assemblages, altered books)

Artwork Image Requirements

• File Type: JPG only
• Longest Side: Minimum 1,200 pixels
• File Size: Under 5 MB
• Do not include frame in the image or measurements

Fees

• Adult Artists (over 18): $20 per artwork, no maximum
• Student Artists (≤18): FREE with coupon codes, maximum 3 entries per student
• Coupon codes for student checkout: 1st entry STU1ST, 2nd entry STU2ND, 3rd entry reuse STU1ST or STU2ND

Judging & Awards

Judging will be conducted online by a judge to be announced. Cash awards based on the number of paid entries will be awarded for Best of Show, Best Floral, Best Landscape, and Best Student. Winners in the First Place, Second Place, Third Place, First Honorable Mention, Best of Show, Best Landscape, Best Floral, and Best Student categories are eligible to display their work in the CAL Gallery (October 2026) with no hanging fee; one docent shift per artwork is required, with docent training available.

Artist Divisions

• Division I (Accomplished): Leaders, teachers, or judges with strong art theory knowledge who consistently win awards
• Division II (Established): Well-established artists with proven track record who possess technical skills to teach others
• Division III (Emerging): Artists early in their journey (3–7 years) gaining confidence and developing artistic style
• Division IV (Novice): Artists creating art for less than 3 years through self-study or instruction
• Division V (Youth): School-aged artists (preK–12), subdivided into Elementary (preK–5), Middle School (6–8), and High School (9–12)

How to Enter

• Create and upload your portfolio on CaFE (www.callforentry.org) before applying; upload all artwork images first to avoid profile issues
• Search for CAL Fall 2026 Judged Show on CaFE and submit your chosen artwork
• Complete payment; students must apply coupon codes during checkout
