Nuevo taller Get Real en KBr Fundación Mapfre, con Dana Lixenberg

Overview

The seventh edition of KBr Fundación MAPFRE's Get Real! program features Dutch artist Dana Lixenberg, who will lead an intensive four-day workshop. Lixenberg will share her approach to portraiture, drawing from her project and editorial experience. Participants will explore their photographic process and the dynamics of portraying others through exercises, group reviews, and fieldwork. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Eligibility

National or international artists, of legal age, who are interested in addressing and working on some of the most relevant themes in contemporary photographic practice.

Location

3rd Floor of Torre Mapfre (Carrer de la Marina, 16-18, 08005 Barcelona).

Application & Documentation

• Contact information (email, address, and phone number).
• Brief paragraph (maximum 300 words) answering: Why are you a photographer? Why do you want to attend the workshop?
• Selection of 20-30 images from a coherent ongoing or completed project where portraiture is an integral part of the narrative. Projects must be original, and the candidate must confirm sole authorship and ownership.
• An introductory explanatory paragraph for the image series.
• All documentation must be presented in a single PDF file.

Selection Process

Fundación Mapfre, with the assistance of designated experts, will review all applications and select the most suitable participants. Pre-selected candidates will be notified by email on November 5, 2026, and must expressly accept their participation within five business days of receiving the communication. Upon acceptance, pre-selected candidates must pay the workshop fee to formalize their place. There are 15 available spots.
