GCAC's DEI & Racial Equity Statements
GCAC commits to overcoming inequities including racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, classism, and ableism. The organization believes the arts play an essential role in examining issues of our time and prompting change toward equity. GCAC acknowledges that systems of power grant privilege and access unequally and has a responsibility to dismantle inequities within policies, programs, and practices. The organization focuses specifically on racial equity as a pressing issue and commits to engaging with, listening to, and lifting up voices from historically-marginalized groups through authentic dialogue and measurable annual goals.
