About
Overview
This group exhibition interrogates "deviance" as a concept, category, label, and worldview. Deviance subverts norms, undermines hegemony, and reimagines traditions. The show celebrates the deviant's powers of disruption, innovation, authenticity, and individuality at the heart of image making practices in the 21st century. The exhibition will be accompanied by a scholarly symposium on the subject of deviance in the history of art.

About the Venue
The Hamilton Gallery in Newport, Rhode Island is a 1,000 square foot non-profit public art gallery located on the waterfront campus of Salve Regina University. It is a recognized cultural center in New England. Artwork submissions are reviewed by a faculty committee from the Department of Art and Art History at Salve Regina University.
