Overview
Die Junge Akademie seeks outstanding early-career scientists and artists to join a five-year membership program. Members work interdisciplinarily at the intersection of science, art, politics, and society, developing new perspectives on current challenges. The organization accepts ten new members each year.
Key Dates
- Application period: September 1 – November 11, 2026
- Selection interviews: February 2027
- New members admitted: Summer 2027
Eligibility
- Completed PhD or equivalent artistic qualification
- Qualification completed 3–7 years before the deadline (parental, care, and sick leave periods are considered)
- German language proficiency at C1 level or higher
- No geographic restrictions
Selection Process
Applications are submitted online only. A commission of active members will invite selected applicants to interviews in Berlin in February 2027. New members are admitted in summer 2027.
