General InformationThank you for your interest in the 3rd annual printmaking micro-residency at The CU. This program offers the unique opportunity to create a limited edition hand-pulled print using our printmaking facilities. Over the course of a month, one selected artist will work closely with Taylor Gibson, our manager of programming, to brainstorm, produce, and curate a closed edition of 20 prints created in the medium of their choosing (relief, intaglio, screenprint, collagraph). These prints will become a token of appreciation for high-level donors of The Cedars Union. The selected artist will be awarded a $400 stipend, 5 prints from the completed edition, and a print included in The Cedars Union permanent collection. The imagery, method of print, and specifics of the print (layer number, colors, composition, paper type, image size, and any embellishments) will be at the discretion of the artist. Ownership of the produced image will belong solely to the artist, though The Cedars Union will retain the rights to use it for marketing and outreach. All materials will be provided. To apply, please submit a 200-word proposal for what you intend to produce, as well as how you believe your work would benefit and translate into printmaking. Proposals may, but are not required to, include sketches detailing the specifics of your proposed image. Applicants will also need to submit 3-5 examples of relevant work. No prior experience in printmaking is required, and artists of any medium are welcome to apply. Previous Recipients:Victoria Brill (Cohort 4)Bao Nghi Ngo (Cohort 5)
