Overview

Work//Shift is a new 12-month, part-time hybrid fellowship from the Center for Cultural Innovation's Research to Impact Lab for gig workers, freelancers, and independent contractors who want to reimagine the future of work and social safety nets. Fellows will challenge dominant assumptions about work and safety nets, learn across sectors and lived experiences, build durable relationships and networks, and ideate new projects, policy ideas, and systems-level solutions. You do not need to enter the fellowship with a fully formed project.

What Fellows Receive

  • $30,000 stipend for participation
  • 12-month, part-time hybrid fellowship
  • Virtual programming and two in-person convenings
  • Opportunities to build relationships with a cross-sector network of people reimagining what comes next

Who We're Looking For

People with deep knowledge, lived experience, bold ideas, and a desire to build alongside others. Gig workers, freelancers, and independent contractors are encouraged to apply.
