Overview
The 16th Annual Salon Art Prize consists of 11 monthly online competitions. Over $65,000 in cash prizes are awarded annually, with over $2,000 awarded each month and over $40,000 in the annual competition.

Eligibility
All entrants must be at least 18 years old. Competition is open to residents of any state or country where acceptable by law. Employees or associates of Streamline Publishing, Inc., or their immediate families may not enter.
Fees
- Early Bird (August 1-15): $29 for first work, $12 each additional work
- Regular (August 16-31): $40 for first work, $16 each additional work
- All entry fees are non-refundable

- Monthly: First Place $600, Second Place $400, Third Place $300, Category awards $50 each, 19 Honorable Mention awards
- Annual: Two Grand Prizes $15,000 each with magazine features, Second Place $3,000, Third Place $2,000, three Honorable Mention $750 each, six Best Medium Awards $500 each
Media & Requirements
Paintings and drawings only. All entries must be original compositions based on the artist's own reference photos. Photographs, AI art, digital art, and printed or painted-over photographs are prohibited. Plein air entries must be 100% completed outdoors. Images must be at least 1920 pixels on longest side in JPEG format, sRGB color space.
Entry Rules
All artwork must be 100% painted by the entrant and cannot be instructor-assisted or from deceased artists. Paintings do not need to be new or in your possession. Up to 25 entries per monthly competition; up to 50 artworks per artist total. A painting can win only once; non-winning paintings may be re-entered. Grand Prize winners remain eligible to enter but not to win the Grand Prize again.
Categories & Judging
There are 19 categories with specific criteria. Guest judges include prominent artists, gallery owners, and museum curators and directors. Monthly winners automatically advance to the Annual Competition in May 2027.
