The Foundation of ART NYC announces the Venice Independent Creative & Research Residency 2026, an international program supporting artists, curators, writers, researchers, and cultural practitioners. The residency offers dedicated time and space to develop independent creative or research projects in Venice during the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Unlike traditional residency programs, this is a fully independent (self-directed) residency with exclusive use of accommodation for focused research, writing, drawing, digital work, and other table-based creative practices.

  • Session 1: August 17 – September 6, 2026
  • Session 2: September 7 – September 27, 2026
  • Two residents in total (one resident per session)

The residence is located in the historic center of Venice on the main island, within walking distance of the Rialto Bridge, offering convenient access to museums, galleries, libraries, archives, artist-run spaces, and the Biennale venues at the Giardini and Arsenale.
