About
Overview
Amber Hongsermeier/Dancers is seeking visual artists from the Inland Northwest to showcase their work as part of the stage design for a new full-length dance production titled "Liminal." The production explores vulnerability through the changeling folktale from a neurodivergent perspective.
About the Production
"Liminal" is an interdisciplinary ritual premiering December 4–6, 2026, at Stage Left Theater in Spokane, WA. Visual art will be displayed on an elevated surface (8 ft x 4.5 ft) in the upstage left area. The stage will have various lighting setups typical of live performance, and the audience is not permitted on stage to view artwork.
Who Can Apply
Visual artists from the Inland Northwest, age 18 or older. Individuals from marginalized communities (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled individuals) are particularly encouraged to apply.
What to Submit
Submit a portfolio link (no password required) showcasing the work you plan to display. All styles of visual art are welcome, but submissions featuring themes of liminality or natural materials (such as repurposed wood) are particularly encouraged, as they align with the changeling myth.
Artist Responsibilities
Artists must drop off their artwork at Stage Left on a scheduled date prior to the show's opening and pick up their work at the show's closing.
