Since 2002, this program has hosted 80 artists in three-month residencies. In 2026, the residency at Lindre-Basse evolves to support emerging contemporary art creation. This call invites two visual artists to participate in a research and experimentation residency in a rural setting within the Parc naturel régional de Lorraine.

The workshop-residence is located in a converted presbytery (70m² with 6m ceiling height) in Lindre-Basse (300 inhabitants), 2 km from Dieuze, 47 km from Nancy, and 65 km from Metz. Amenities include remote-controlled lifting system, wall-mounted hanging rail, two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, garden, and fiber internet. A vehicle is required for local autonomy.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their motivation to develop a research project. Proposals engaging with the territory (broadly construed) are encouraged. The residency is primarily intended for francophone artists. After a pre-selection of 15 candidates by the art center team, a jury of partners and invited professionals selects 2 candidates. Applicants must demonstrate professional activity in the visual arts.

  • 3,000 EUR residency allocation
  • Up to 200 EUR transport reimbursement
  • 1,200 EUR production budget (for project-related expenses documented with receipts, excluding equipment investment)

Residents benefit from accompaniment by the art center team. Each residency concludes with a public studio opening and may include sensitivity workshops with various audiences during the residency period.
