Situated between documentary and conceptual inquiry, his work examines marginal and subcultural worlds as systems that generate their own forms of meaning and belonging. His projects have been exhibited in Canada, the United States, France, Korea, Mexico, and Cuba, including at Arsenal Contemporary Art, and featured in The Guardian, The Washington Post, Stern, and the British Journal of Photography. His recent book project The New Cubans was launched at Perrotin Store New York and published by PowerHouse Books. In 2026, The New York Times acquired and released his film co-directed with Olivier Côté, La Retaguardia, as part of its Op-Docs series. Bouchard lives in Montréal & New York.
