About

Overview

AVA Community Art Center in Gillette, WY invites artists to submit up to three original artworks for consideration in the 25th Annual Art Auction & Fundraiser. The 2027 Gala Fundraiser & Art Auction will feature up to 45 individual artworks in live and silent auctions, with awards allocated by juried selection and three People's Choice awards selected by public vote.

Eligibility

Open to artists nationally. All work submitted must be the artist's original work. Work over 2 years old or previously shown at an AVA Event will not be considered.

Media & Size

2D and 3D original artwork in any medium will be considered. Artwork dimensions are restricted to 48 inches in any direction, inclusive of matting and framing.

What's Not Accepted

Celebrity portraits or fan art
Giclee prints or reproduction prints of original artworks
Artwork created from a tutorial
Direct copies or replications of another artist's work
Photo reference or artwork infringing on copyright laws

Fees & Awards

Entry fee: $35.00 (covers submission of up to 3 artworks)
Best In Show: $7,000.00
Second Place: $1,500.00
Third Place: $500.00
People's Choice (3 awards): $100.00 each

Application Requirements

Each artwork submission must include at least one high-resolution digital image in JPEG, PNG, GIF, or TIFF format not exceeding 2400 pixels. Label files as: Artist Name/Title/Size. Upon acceptance, artists must provide a short biography and may include a business card or professional links. Artists must set fair market value and reserve value for their work and choose a commission split of either 50% or 75% to AVA.

Delivery & Display Requirements

Accepted artwork must be delivered to AVA between November 17–27, 2026, finished and display ready. Professional framing is required; no sawtooth hangers, clip frames, or plastic framing. Use acid-free matting or backing. Hanging wire and hardware must be firmly attached and safe. Accepted artwork must remain at AVA for the entire exhibition duration.

Commission & Incentives

Participating artists choose to donate either 50% or 75% of proceeds to AVA. Artists who commit 100% of proceeds receive one admission ticket and one guest ticket to the 25th Annual Gala (value $250.00). Artists are responsible for return shipping of unsold artwork.
