A 4-day intensive residency and workshop exploring Greek embroidery history, techniques, and contemporary applications with textile artist Loukia Richards. Participants study 6,000 years of textile history, visit collections, attend lectures, learn antique embroidery techniques, and create their own embroideries for presentation at an Athens downtown venue.

Program details
Covers ancient Greek motifs, late antiquity embroidery, medieval and modern contexts, iconographic connections, ecclesiastical techniques, and contemporary applications. Teaches flat, chain, knot, negative, crazy, and fusion stitches. Explores material experimentation, textile reuse, museum copying techniques, and both disciplined and freestyle embroidery.
Who may participate
Artists, designers, crafters, art theorists, researchers, and amateur embroiderers. Participants must have special interest in Greek textile art, history, and techniques.

- Option A (group of up to 4): €620 with shared downtown studio apartments or €690 with single studio apartment
- Option B (solo, customized): €820 with single studio apartment in downtown Athens; solo participants can choose from listed dates or propose their own 4-day period
