Students will learn how to manipulate, layer, attach, and embellish various fabrics using special glue provided by Cappie, turning fabric remnants and yardage into finished textile panels, wall art, or quilted pillows.
Students will discover the expressive, painterly technique of raw-edge fabric appliqué, designing, cutting, layering, and fusing fabric shapes to create a vibrant, expressive self-portrait. Students will walk away with a finished "Self Portrait" and can choose to leave their piece as a flat textile panel or sandwich it with batting and backing to transform their artwork into a layered, quilted wall hanging. Suitable for all skill levels.
