About
Overview
The Greater Augusta Arts Council seeks ten (10) pre-existing outdoor sculptures for a 2-year temporary installation in Downtown Augusta. All sculptures will be heavily promoted as an arts destination attraction through online, printed, and in-person events, with a digital walking tour created featuring artist content. At least one artwork will be purchased for the City of Augusta's permanent collection.

Eligibility
Open to all artists, preferably professional sculptors, who are at least 18 years old and reside in the United States. Greater Augusta Arts Council employees and members of the Public Art Advisory Panel are not eligible.
Sculpture Requirements
- Secure to a 4' W x 4' D x 4" H concrete pad with anchor bolts or similar devices; not extend significantly beyond pad boundary
- Clearly visible from 50 feet distance
- Structurally sound and capable of withstanding hot summers, cold winters, humidity, heavy rain, wind, thunderstorms, and occasional snow
- Suitable for pedestrian interaction with low exposure to injury; no pointy, sharp, or easily climbable parts
Submission Requirements
- Submit up to 5 applications, each for one individual sculpture
- Provide 2–5 images (high quality recommended; multiple angles showing 360-degree perspective)
- Up to 3 audio files and up to 4 video files accepted
- Total of 2–12 media assets per application
Award
Selected artists will receive a $3,000 stipend for the 2-year lease of their work ($1,500 upon installation, $1,500 upon de-installation). The City of Augusta may purchase artwork for its permanent collection, and private entities may also purchase sculptures.
Selection
All pieces will be scored by the Public Art Advisory Panel. The top ten scoring pieces will be offered placement in the Augusta Sculpture Trail. No single artist will have more than one piece selected, regardless of scores.
