The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to contemporary visual artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Awardees also gain access to the Artadia Network for structured opportunities for valuable connections and resource sharing, plus a dedicated webpage on Artadia's online Artist Registry.

  • New York City: March 1 – April 1, 2026
  • San Francisco Bay Area: May 1 – June 1, 2026
  • 21c: June 15 – July 15, 2026
  • Boston: Aug 15 – Sept 15, 2026
  • Atlanta: Sept 1 – Oct 1, 2026
  • Houston: Oct 1 – Nov 1, 2026
  • Contemporary visual artist making artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context (museum, galleries, arts non-profit, public art realm, etc.)
  • Currently living and working within eligible counties for at least two consecutive years prior to application deadline
  • Not currently enrolled in an art-related degree program, nor planning to attend one in the coming year
  • Never received an Artadia or Art Council award of $10,000 or more
  • Not related to Artadia staff or directors
  • Must be available for a 45-minute virtual studio visit if selected as finalist

Three awardees per city receive $15,000 in unrestricted funds (The Marciano Artadia Award in Los Angeles provides $25,000 to one artist). All finalists not chosen as awardees receive honorariums for their time and labor.

  • Jury of three curators reviews all applications and determines six finalists
  • Second round: virtual studio visits (45 minutes) with finalists
  • Three awardees designated based on jury discretion
  • Choose one submission option: Up to 8 images (.jpg or .png); 8 images plus up to 3 minutes of video; or up to 6 minutes of video only
  • Time-based media files must be uploaded directly to platform (no external links)
  • Label files with simple numerical sequences (01, 02, 03, etc.)
  • If submitting AI-generated or AI-assisted work, disclose in application
  • Sole conceptual author of work unless submitted as collaboration with clearly identified collaborators

All applicants notified by email via Submittable regarding application status (both upon submission and upon finalist stage review). Awardees determined based on jury discretion.
