Overview
Long-term network funding supports networks with the potential to evolve into sustained cooperation in the Nordic and Baltic regions. This funding is part of the Nordic–Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture, which promotes artistic and cultural cooperation across the Nordic and Baltic regions, focusing on increasing the exchange of knowledge, contacts, and interest in Nordic and Baltic art and culture.
Who Can Apply
Funding is available for groups of at least three organisations and/or professional artists or cultural practitioners (such as curators, producers, literary translators, cultural editors, or researchers) in all forms of art and culture. Applicants must be residents of the Nordic Region (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, or Åland) or the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania), though citizenship is not required. The network must consist of partners from at least three Nordic and/or Baltic countries.
Funding Amount
Networks planning to cooperate for up to three years may apply for funding of up to EUR 100,000. The requested funding may cover a maximum of 50% of the total project budget. Additional funding from other pan-Nordic institutions may be applied for the same project, provided total funding from the Nordic–Baltic Mobility Programme and other pan-Nordic organisations does not exceed 85% of the project's total budget.
What Is Eligible
Network funding facilitates meetings, the exchange of ideas and knowledge between professional artists and cultural practitioners. Funding can support a series of joint meetings, conferences, workshops, staff exchanges and joint training; sharing resources and expertise for opinion-driven initiatives; cooperating on programming or structures for tours; and the establishment of a collaborative platform which can later lead to larger international projects.
What Is Not Eligible
Funding is not available for the execution of artistic and cultural productions, tours or individual events, or activities that have already been carried out. Although the long-term objective of the network may be a joint production or similar, funding is not available for production costs.
Project Duration
The earliest start date for activities funded by the programme is eight weeks after the application deadline. Projects may run during the year in which the application is submitted and the following two calendar years (i.e., the application year plus two additional years). The grant may be used during the year in which it is awarded and the following two calendar years.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a budget using the mandatory budget template, clearly specifying costs for which funding is requested. Submit relevant documentation relating to the planned partnership, such as an agreement or letter of intent, and your network's guidelines for sustainable working practices.
Assessment Criteria
Applications are assessed on clear objectives and timetable, quality and cooperation (including new networks and collaborations emphasizing cultural diversity), communication and dissemination of results, the Nordic–Baltic dimension (promoting contact and communication between countries, strengthening regional presence, and improving awareness of artists and visibility of work), and sustainable development guided by appropriate policies and operating principles.
