Late Summer and Fall Residency

Overview

Cloud Collective Residency is an artist- and writer-led space in Western North Carolina designed for creative retreat, reflection, and connection. The residency fosters slow practices, cross-disciplinary exchange, and collective liberation through creativity, centered on values of care, access, and transformation.

Residency Duration & Accommodation

• 3–6 month terms available
• Private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, fully furnished
• Shared communal spaces including kitchen, salon, dining room, and grounds

Disciplines & Studio Space

The space works best for visual artists working in 2-D media and writers. A piano is available for musicians with understanding that certain times of day are more conducive to practice. Two designated work spaces with work tables, writing desks, and comfortable reading chairs.

Fees

• $1,450/month including all meals
• $1,000/month if residents purchase their own food
• Scholarships based on need and merit occasionally available

Eligibility & Expectations

We seek residents who are self-directed, self-sufficient, and enjoy sharing living space with other creatives. Artists and writers are welcome and encouraged to give a talk, host a workshop, or hang an exhibition, but this is not required.
