OPEN KAAYSÁ 1-6 month residency – Atlantic Forest – BRAZIL

Overview

KAAYSÁ OPEN is a program where artists and writers of all disciplines choose their own residency dates and duration (1-6 months) in the Atlantic Forest. There is no set theme or program—residents pursue their own research, projects, writing, painting, music recording, or other creative work. The facility sits on 5,000 square meters and can accommodate multiple residents alongside participants in other Kaaysá programs.

Location & Setting

Located in the Atlantic Forest with a 10-minute walk to trails leading to Ribeirão Itu waterfalls and a 15-minute walk to Boicucanga beach and downtown.

Duration

Minimum 1 month, maximum 6 months. Residency dates are flexible and chosen by the artist.

Accommodation & Amenities

• Single suite with double bed, fan, refrigerator, and private bathroom
• Use of kitchen, laundry, swimming pool, and all common areas
• Free internet access
• Bicycles for community use
• Projectors and sewing machine

Studio & Workspace

• Collective or individual studio space
• Carpentry and ceramic oven
• Sound recording studio with musical instruments
• Gym mats and yoga mats
• Ample production space

Fees

• 1 month: US$1,200
• 3 months: US$1,000/month
• 6 months: US$800/month
• Food and transport not included
