The Galleries is a new web platform being developed by the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) to transform how art enthusiasts and collectors discover contemporary art in Canada. Accessible, intuitive, and geolocated, the platform will enable commercial galleries and cultural organizations to reach new audiences and strengthen visibility while offering a user-friendly experience.
Features
The platform will offer maps and customizable routes in major Canadian cities, a calendar of contemporary art exhibitions and events, and editorial content to contextualize the exhibition experience.
Timeline
The first phase of the platform's rollout is planned for 2027.
Partners
The platform's design and development is being carried out by Montreal-based agency Deux Huit Huit. Frédéric Meunier, independent senior web consultant, is assisting in strategic guidance. SODEC is providing financial support.
