Overview
The Connect and Create Circulation of Performing Arts and Music call, led by the Goethe-Institut and Expertise France in partnership with the Institut français and with support of the European Union, aims to support the dissemination and circulation of African artistic creations in Africa and Europe through financial assistance for organising tours or programming within major international events. It focuses on youth, emerging artistic scenes, and cultural diversity, with the ambition to build sustainable, inclusive, and equitable cooperation.
Who may apply
- Artistic teams: performing arts companies, music ensembles, and collectives based in Africa
- Distribution and support organisations: production agencies, artist development organisations, artist support organisations, record labels, performance venues and cultural spaces based in Africa or Europe
- Events: festivals, markets, trade fairs, or professional gatherings in Africa or Europe
- Applicant organisations must be based in one of the 47 eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa or in one of the 27 member states of the European Union
Eligible projects
- Tours in Africa: at least 5 pre-booked dates in a minimum of 3 different countries
- Tours in Europe: at least 3 pre-booked dates in one or more European countries
- Programming within major events: in Africa or Europe, festivals/events hosting at least 3 artistic teams from 3 different African countries

Funding ranging from a minimum of 15,000 EUR to a maximum of 39,500 EUR will be awarded to selected projects and can include travel, visa, insurance or shipping costs, among others.
