Overview
Buganvilia is a large, high-ceilinged flexible space operational since mid-2015, ideal for painting, drawing, printmaking, and installation work. It features conditioned walls and boards for large-format creation and vertical installation, as well as a patio for fire cooking and three-dimensional projects in wood, clay, or other materials.
Studio Equipment
The workshop is equipped with boards, easels, a 120 x 80 cm printing press, and paper-drying racks. For three-dimensional construction and intervention, it has basic carpentry and masonry tools including saws, hammers, spatulas, screwdrivers, and drills.
Hours
Monday to Friday with no time restrictions; weekends by prior notice.
About Tomás Espina
Tomás Espina (Buenos Aires, 1975) is a graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón. He has received grants from Argentina's Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación and the Atlantic Center for the Arts (USA), plus residencies at MAC VAL (France) and Art Omi (USA). His recognitions include First Prize Petrobras/arteBA (2009), Third Prize Cultural Chandon (2005), Second Prize Fundación Banco Ciudad (2002), and Artist of the Year (2009) by the Argentine Association of Art Critics. His work is held in collections including Museo Moderno, MALBA, and MNBA (Argentina), MAMCO (Switzerland), MAC VAL (France), CIFO (USA), and Deutsche Bank.
