General Information"Chew on This" invites artists to explore the creative, cultural, and visual power of food. From literal depictions of meals and ingredients to conceptual interpretations of consumption, community, and nourishment.“Chew on This” encourages artists to push boundaries and think outside the box. Whether your work is playful, provocative, nostalgic, or abstract, curators want to see how creative you can get with your food.This in person exhibition will feature artwork across a wide range of media, including collage, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, mixed media, and more. From 2D works to fully realized 3D installations, “Chew on This” highlights the many ways artists can interpret and transform food into compelling visual experiences.If it involves food—or is inspired by it—we want to see it.Selected works will be exhibited in person at the beautiful LACA Gallery in Ludington and promoted on line on our Facebook page. Artwork does not need to be for sale. See the Application Requirements for more details.Exhibit dates are October 2 - October 31, 2026. Deadline for Submission of Entries is Sunday, August 30, 2026. Invitees will be notified by September 4, 2026. Artwork must arrive at our Gallery no later than Saturday, September 26, 2026. The Artist is responsible for shipping Items to and from our gallery in Ludington, MI. During the exhibit, each work will also be featured on our Facebook page for additional exposure. https://www.facebook.com/LudingtonArtsCenterUp to two works may be submitted through Cafe. Open to all artists, 18 years and older.

Application RequirementsSubmission in this juried Exhibit is exclusively through CAFE -- CallForEntry. The website is https://www.callforentry.org. Then select "Find Calls" -- or do it at the top of this page. Finally, enter LACA into the search field to apply to a Call. OR SIMPLY CLICK THE ''APPLY NOW'' BOX ABOVE. Artists new to CAFE can also click "Artist Sign Up" (free and easy) at the top of this page to begin the submission process. Entry fee is $30.00 and allows submission of up to 2 different works for consideration, from 2D works of all media to fully realized 3D installations, and video. The fee will not be refunded, in part or in whole, for any reason. In addition, the application and fee do not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit. Payment is by credit card or Pay Pal only. No checks are accepted. Deadline for submission is Sunday August 30, 2026.An Artist Statement (200 characters or less) is required that discusses your submitted pieces. Submit one for each piece you enter. This statement is not part of the jury process but will be displayed during the exhibit.An Artist bio is also requested in the application process to be used during the exhibit.

Eligibility Criteria“Chew on This” is open to 2D and 3D artists, national and international. No reproductions or derivatives of original art are accepted. -- Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Submission is exclusively through CAFE -- CallForEntry.
